Between Altea and Torrevieja we can fit it ourselves. Installation is quoted separately: around €150 within a 20 km radius. Ask for a quote.

What's included

  • Foracal anti-limescale doser: head with non-return valve and 3/4" male connections, bowl and bleed valve.
  • One dosing cartridge (about 35,000 litres) with the dosing mechanism built in.
  • Instructions for fitting, use and changing the cartridge.

The fittings that connect the system to your pipework (3/4" female to 15 or 22 mm) are supplied by the installer, depending on the pipes in your home.

Features

  • Protects the whole system. It is fitted where the water comes in, after the meter, and works on taps, shower, boiler, washing machine, dishwasher and pipework.
  • No electricity. It only needs the water pressure.
  • Precise dosing. It adds a maximum of 5 parts per million of food-grade silicopolyphosphates. The mechanism sits inside the cartridge and prevents blockages or overdosing; every new cartridge renews it.
  • Against limescale and corrosion. It stops calcium and magnesium salts settling and forms a protective film inside the pipes.
  • Change indicator. The red ball in the cartridge shows the level and tells you when to replace it.
  • Approved non-return valve built into the head: WRAS, KIWA, DVGW, TÜV Thüringen, Belgaqua, NF, ETA, SP SITAC and NSF.
  • Water still fit to drink. The product dosed is food grade and the method complies with standard EN 1208.

Non-return valve approved across Europe and in the United States.

The system carries a non-return valve approved by the drinking water certification bodies of nine countries. The dosing method complies with standard EN 1208 for products used to treat water intended for human consumption, within the FAO and WHO regulations.

Installation

It goes as close as possible to where the water comes in, after the meter, with the head horizontal and the arrow pointing the way the water flows. A brief shut-off of the supply is all it takes. We recommend having a plumber do it.

If your home is between Altea and Torrevieja, we can fit it ourselves, quoted separately. Everywhere else in mainland Spain we ship it to you and your plumber fits it using the data sheet we provide.

Everything about installation

Maintenance

Only the cartridge. It lasts about 35,000 litres, roughly one cartridge per person per year. The red ball in the cartridge tells you when to change it; it is worth a glance once a month. Changing it takes a few minutes and you do it yourself: turn off the stopcock, bleed, unscrew, swap the cartridge and open up again.

Frequently asked

Can I add the pre-filter later?

For now the pre-filter is sold as part of the Complete System. If you think you might need it, it pays to choose the Complete System from the start. If you are unsure, ask us.

Do I need a pressure reducer?

The system works between 0.5 and 10 bar. If the mains pressure at your home is above 7 bar, a pressure reducer should be fitted.

Does it work for hot water?

It is fitted on the cold mains, before the boiler, with water between 1 and 40 °C. That way it also protects the boiler and the whole hot water circuit.

When do you start noticing it?

The doser works from the moment it is commissioned. Within a few days you notice the difference.
