What it is
The filtering cartridge of the pre-filter: a 50 micron stainless steel mesh that holds back the sand and particles arriving with the mains water, before they reach the doser and your plumbing. It filters without any noticeable pressure loss.
How long it lasts
At least a year. Being stainless steel, it is virtually self-cleaning and needs almost no maintenance. It is worth checking it when you change the anti-limescale cartridge, and replacing it if it is damaged or heavily loaded.
How to change it
The same as the anti-limescale cartridge: close the stopcock, bleed the water with a container underneath, unscrew the pre-filter bowl, swap the mesh, screw it back on and open the stopcock slowly, checking for leaks.
Compatibility
It fits the pre-filter of the Foracal Complete System. If you have a pre-filter from another brand, ask us before buying.
