The Foracal anti-limescale doser with a stainless steel pre-filter. The set-up we recommend for most homes.
Does your home already have a particle filter? Then the Anti-limescale System is enough.
Between Altea and Torrevieja we can fit it ourselves. Installation is quoted separately: around €150 within a 20 km radius. Ask for a quote.
The fittings that connect the system to your pipework (3/4" female to 15 or 22 mm) are supplied by the installer, depending on the pipes in your home.
The system carries a non-return valve approved by the drinking water certification bodies of nine countries. The dosing method complies with standard EN 1208 for products used to treat water intended for human consumption, within the FAO and WHO regulations.
Marks redrawn from the product leaflet: country code and the body that approves the non-return valve.
It goes as close as possible to where the water comes in, after the meter, with the heads horizontal and the arrows pointing the way the water flows: pre-filter first, then doser. A brief shut-off of the supply is all it takes. We recommend having a plumber do it.
If your home is between Altea and Torrevieja, we can fit it ourselves, quoted separately. Everywhere else in mainland Spain we ship it to you and your plumber fits it using the data sheet we provide.
Two cartridges, and you change both yourself. The dosing cartridge lasts about 35,000 litres, roughly one per person per year, and the red ball tells you when. The stainless steel pre-filter cartridge is virtually self-cleaning and lasts at least a year.

See this replacementBecause mains water carries sand and particles that wear out taps, pipes and appliances. The pre-filter holds them back before the doser, and we recommend fitting it so the dosing system works at its best.
The two bodies together take up 23.5 cm of pipe, against 11.5 cm for the doser alone. The height (21 cm) and depth (7.5 cm) are the same. There are fitting diagrams for horizontal pipes, vertical pipes and tight spaces.
The system works between 0.5 and 10 bar. If the mains pressure at your home is above 7 bar, a pressure reducer should be fitted.
The doser works from the moment it is commissioned. Within a few days you notice the difference.
